Premier League newcomers Norwich City have signed Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan.

The former Fulham wonderkid has struggled to make an impact at the Manchester club, but has impressed with a spell on loan at Celtic.

The 22 year old will hope to get some much needed Premier League experience with The Canaries and get his promising career back on track. Whilst Norwich will want his quality on the pitch to ensure they can avoid relegation this coming season after winning the EFL Championship in style.

Norwich’s Sporting Director Stuart Webber revealed how relieved he has to finally land Roberts, who they have been keen on signing for a long time.

“He is a player I have personally tried to sign twice before. Once at Huddersfield, when he went to Celtic, and here 12 months ago when he went to Girona because they wouldn’t let him come to the Championship.”

“That was fine. We respect Manchester City for that. So I have been aware of him and so has Daniel. He is different to the wide options we have got. Different to Emi Buendia, different to Onel Hernandez, different to Todd Cantwell.”

“He has had a difficult year at Girona, which we like. He is honest and candid about that and how much resilience he has built up during that time. We look at him and he has unbelievable talent.”
