According to reports, all three of the newly promoted Premier League clubs are looking at Neal Maupay as a potential transfer that would be sure to benefit each club.

Villa boss Dean Smith worked with Maupay at Brentford where he then went onto to score 28 goals in all competitions, managing to grab 8 assists as well. The Villans are preparing to smash their club transfer record by making a bid of around £20 million pounds for the 22 year old.

It is said the likes of Burnley and Brighton as well as Sheffield United and Norwich are also keen on Maupay as Dean Smith wants to reunite with the player that he worked wonders with at Griffin Park.

Nonetheless, as these three teams got promoted to the Premier League, Dean Smith, Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder will be keen to add firepower to their squad and prepare their teams for what could be a tough campaign in England’s top-flight.

Speaking in December 2018, Neal Maupay had this to say about his potential reunion with ex Brentford manager Dean Smith. “I have a really, really good relationship with Dean. So obviously if one day he calls me and says ‘Neal, I need you in my team’ I would consider it. But at this moment I can’t be focused on other things than Brentford. Obviously, I really liked working for him, so if one day he wants to bring me to Villa or wherever I would listen to him because he has done a lot of good things for me”.
