Aston Villa are not 24 hours into celebrating their promotion to the Premier League, but Mile Jedinak is already planning life elsewhere.
The Australian international, who joined the club from Crystal Palace is approaching his 35th birthday and has seemingly called time on his career outside of his homeland.
Macathur FC are a club joining the Australian A-League next season and look like they are ready to bring the former Socceroo’s captain back home.
Jedinak didn’t feature in that 2-1 win over Derby, but Villa are rumoured to be keen to keep an experienced head such as Jedinak around the club, who spent five years at Crystal Palace and was a key part in their annual Premier League survival.
But the prospect of a swansong season in his homeland before retirement is an attractive prospect for the Aussie. With an apparent desire to go into coaching once his playing career has ended, there seems to be more open doors for that career path in the A-League.
