Jurgen Klopp believes Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino will be fit for the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday night.
The forward has enjoyed another successful season upfront for Liverpool, alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but was suffering from a knock in recent weeks which put his involvement in the final in doubt.
But with 16 goals and 11 assists this season, despite the injury problems that have plagued his season, Firmino is a key asset for Klopp in the final third. His movement and unselfish play brings the best out of his colleagues whilst still finding a way to be clinical in front on goal himself.
When questioned about the fitness of Firmino, Klopp replied with positive news; “Yes, he’s ready. He’s fit and he has trained. He should be fine.”
But the German manager was less informative when asked if he was ready to start, keeping his cards close to his chest, just as he expected his adversary, Mauricio Pochettino to do;
“If he will start? I’ll only tell you if Poch gives away his full team!”
Liverpool and Tottenham meet in Madrid at 8pm GMT on Saturday night. With the match taking place in the Wanda Metropolitano, the new home of Atletico Madrid.
Spurs hope to win their first ever Champions League whilst Liverpool are vying to add to their 5 previous cup in europes elite competition.
