Fabien Delph has expressed his gratitude and undying belief in Gareth Southgate, citing he would ‘run through brick walls’ for the England manager.

The Manchester City man has lost his place in the starting lineup at club level this season, with Oleksandr Zinchenko being preferred at left back and a host of top level players occupying the central midfield roles.

But for Southgate, Delph is a key part of his squad, on top of his versatility and work ethic it is been mooted that the former Aston Villa man is a true leader within the youthful squad and has the trust of the management.

It seems, the management has the trust of Delph too, after he spoke highly of the new regime.

Speaking to The Guardian, Delph said;

“Gareth has a great way about him, [as do] the staff that he’s got,”

“They’re really good people and, when you come here, straight away you feel at home. So if they tell you to run through a brick wall, you’re going to run through a brick wall. You’re going to do everything that you can for these people.”
